GATE is conducted for admission to post graduate courses in engineering institutes. GATE score will be applicable for admission to Engineering, Technology, Architecture as well as Doctoral programmes. The exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Sciences and seven Indian Institutes of Technology. Indian Institute of Technology Madras will be organizing GATE 2011.
As per GATE 2011 analysis, the exam will consists of single paper of 3 hours duration. There will be 65 questions in all. The questions in paper will be multiple choice types except for two papers: AE and TF which will have both multiple choice questions and numerical answer type. GATE 2011 online examination begins 30 Jan 2011. The offline examination will be held on 13th February 2011. The results for GTAE 2011 will be declared on March 15, 2011 at 10:00 hrs at offices of IISc (Indian Institute of Sciences) and seven IITs (Indian Institute of Technology). GATE 2011 results will also be available on the official website. GATE score is valid for two years from the date of declaration of the GATE 2011 results.
