There are two ways to submit GATE application form 1. GATE Offline Application Step 1 Candidate can obtain a packet containing from (a) Designated Bank Branches corresponding to each zone on cash payment. (b) Zonal GATE Office by sending a request letter and TWO self-addressed slips along with a Demand Draft for appropriate amount. � Over the counter from Zonal GATE Office after handing over Demand Draft for appropriate amount. GATE Offline Application Form GATE 2011 Information Brochure GATE 2011 Acknowledgment Card Envelope Step 2 Obtain SC/ST/PD Certificate (if applicable) SC/ST and Disability Certificate should be obtained from appropriate authority. Step 3 Fill in the Application Form: Candidates must follow the instructions provided in GATE 2010 brochure. Step 4 Post/Submission Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Registered or Speed post to The Chairman, GATE 2010 of the Zone, where the candidate prefers (corresponding to the 1st Choice of Examination City) to appear for the examination, on or before Due Date.
OR It can be handed over personally to respective Zonal GATE Office. 2. GATE Online Application Step 1 Select GATE Online Payment Option: Online Payment: Online Payment is possible through: A. HDFC bank payment gateway using Mastercard or Visa credit cards or those debit cards issued with Mastercard or Visa logo and with "Verified by Visa" or "Mastercard's SecureCode" passwords for net safe applications. B. SBI payment gateway using Mastercard or Visa credit cards and debit cards, Maestro ATM cards of SBI and other banks. You shall be required to use the ATM card PIN for using the payment gateways. Step 2 Obtain Digital Photo and Scanned Signature. Candidates are advised to have a digital photograph and scanned signature prior to starting the filling of application and these should be uploaded when applying Online. Otherwise they have to submit it later. Step 3 Obtain SC/ST/PD Certificate (if applicable) SC/ST and Disability Certificate should be obtained from appropriate authority. The Certificate should also be scanned so that it can be uploaded when applying online. Step 4 Apply Online: Candidates must follow the instructions provided on the online application form filling page. Step 5 Post/Submission An application which is incomplete by not uploading the necessary documents can be completed by sending those documents by post along with a covering note that can be printed on the online site. All such documents must reach the GATE office at IIT Kanpur by due date. Instructions for filling and submission of GATE Application Form (i) GATE Application Form, (ii) GATE 2011 Acknowledgement Card and (iii) Envelope are the same. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of the GATE chairman of the zone from which the Application Form was purchased. b) It is essential to quote the Application Number in all future correspondence with respective zonal GATE Office. The candidates are advised to keep a copy of the filled Application Form. c) The Application Form must be folded only along the original fold line. Nothing should be stapled or pinned to it. The Barcode on the Application Form should not be tampered. The Application Form will be declared defective if these instructions are not followed. d) Please note that Change of GATE Paper is not permitted after the submission of Application Form. Please make sure that you have filled correct paper code in your Application Form. e) Change of Examination City is permitted, only if a request for the same reaches the GATE Chairman of zone to which the Application Form was originally submitted, on or before due date, along with Demand Draft of Rs. 400/- as fee for change of Examination City. NOTE: Incomplete or defective applications will be rejected outright.
