Calculation of Bioavailability Parameters
Objectives:
=> To appropriately use the method of Residuals and the method of
Wagner and Nelson to calculate ka=> To calculate F
using plasma or urine data
On most occasions you will be able to get the parameter values from tables
and references. However, you should also know how to get these values from the
data. The two parameters we will concentrate on are ka and F. These values can
be used to compare dosage forms or brands. In the previous Chapter we saw the
effect changing ka or F has on the plasma concentration time curve.
